Here at CompassMSP, we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we only have our clients to thank.
We’re a leading Managed Service Provider, and unlike most of our competitors, we’ve honed our focus to specifically include the small- to medium-sized business. In an industry where most practice models, like security, are geared toward enterprise-level companies, our clients asked us what we could do for them; so we found ways to break those models down and give our clients the right features at a reasonable price.
We’ve also been able to figure out how to apply our services to a range of industries, because our clients needed us to, and now we work with companies in business, healthcare, insurance, financial, real estate, non-profit and more. On top of that, our clients tell us they can count on our response time, efficiency and trustworthiness—recognition we regard higher than anything else.
It’s the combination of these achievements and our CompassSecure 360 Degrees of Security program, all of which we did for our clients, that we were recently ranked #2 on Channel Future’s global list of top 2018 MSP 501 MSSPs. This is a huge accomplishment for our company, as only 58 MSPs are given the Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) designation at all, making even being recognized as an MSSP extremely rare.
So what does this all mean? First, by adding an extra “s” to our designation, we become a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). This means that we perform all the same functions as a Managed Service Provider (MSP), but add an extra level of service by focusing on your company security—in our case, we do that through CompassSecure 360 Degrees of Security. By definition, MSSPs make proactive security decisions to ensure your business always protects itself against new and developing cyber threats, which in today’s tech world, continue to emerge on a daily basis. As the #2 MSP with MSSP capabilities, we will only continue to evolve and diversify our portfolio, ensuring that all current and future clients get the level of service befitting a top-rated MSSP.
As a comprehensive security solution exclusive to CompassMSP, here’s what CompassSecure 360 Degrees of Security does for your business:
At a very basic level, most Managed Security Providers offer protection services for a company’s technical systems and endpoints. (If they don’t… do yourself a favor and find a new IT provider ASAP.) These protection models typically include firewalls, intrusion prevention, endpoint security and email security and encryption services, but they don’t always handle application whitelisting and two-factor authentication. The latter two are critical when it comes to preventing viruses and hacking.
By developing a list of approved software applications for your systems, application whitelisting prevents your computers and networks from downloading potentially-harmful applications. Two-factor authentication, also known as multi-factor authentication, gives businesses an added layer of security by requesting user-specific information when a new user tries to access a company’s computer system or network. An MSSP will always implement both.
Compliance + Assessments
These are two different services we offer as part of CompassSecure 360, but they go hand in hand. Regardless of your industry, every company has to stay compliant with some sort of federal regulations and standards, and their IT systems do, too. Regulations like the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA), Payment Card Industry (PCI), U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) all impose specific IT security regulations that companies must have to meet their criteria. Compliance can make or break your company’s ability to work in certain industries, making compliance monitoring services critical to the success of your company.
These compliance requirements drive the need for assessments. Based on your company’s compliance needs, we conduct annual vulnerability scans and penetration and application testing. These assessments make sure your computer systems and networks don’t have any security loopholes, are protected against all attacks, know how to respond to an attack (should one get through) and more, ultimately ensuring you’re always up to code with federal regulations.
As much as you can use security and monitoring to defend your technology from cyber attacks, we always have to prepare for the element of human error. Employees can be a company’s biggest point of vulnerability. Through our CompassSecure 360, we show your employees how to recognize and report phishing and teach them about the importance of security and password protection.
Security Operations Center
One of the largest benefits of working with an MSSP is its Security Operations Center (SOC). In today’s world, cyber attacks are increasing by 1000% every year. No matter how advanced your defenses are, at that speed, eventually one will infiltrate your systems! Cyber attacks are developing new and interesting ways of harming your technology each and every day, and because of that, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to staying protected. Instead, it’s a matter of how quickly you respond to it, and what actions you take when you do. That’s where SOC comes in.
Through 24/7 security monitoring and prevention, managed detection and response services, and security information and event management (Managed SIEM), the Security Operations Center takes your attack response time from weeks or months to just a few minutes.
Adding to those CompassSecure 360 services, here are the certifications we at CompassMSP have that make us a Managed Security Service Provider: SonicWALL Secure First Managed Security Services Partner, Cisco Certified Network Associate Security, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), GIAC Certified Penetration Tester, GIAC Web Application Pentesting, GIAC Certified Incident Response Handler & Data Security & Privacy Certification (DSCP).
